Nearly all events are free and open to the public and include book sales and signings. Fiction Reading
Aleksandar Hemon’s most recent book is "Love and Obstacles: Stories" (Riverhead Books, 2009), which was a New York Times Notable Book of the Year. Hemon is the 2012 Distinguished Fiction-Writer-in-Residence in the NYU Creative Writing Program. Fiction Reading
Alice Albinia’s debut novel, "Leela’s Book," a portrait of contemporary India, is new from W. W. Norton (January 2012). "Family Planning" (HarperCollins, 2008) is Karan Mahajan’s (pictured) acclaimed debut novel, which is set in New Delhi. The authors will be introduced by poet Purvi Shah.

"One Story" Presents
A reading by contributors to "One Story," the Brooklyn-based literary magazine. Seth Fried’s debut story collection, "The Great Frustration," was published by Soft Skull Press in 2011. Bruce Machart’s most recent book is "Men in the Making: Stories" (Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, 2011). Reading and Conversation: Translating the Poetry of Leah Goldberg
Translator Annie Kantar reads from "With this Night" (University of Texas Press, 2011), the final collection of poetry published by Leah Goldberg (pictured). A significant figure in contemporary Hebrew literature, Goldberg was awarded the Israeli Prize shortly after her death in 1970. Kantar will be introduced by poet Phillis Levin.
